FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHER

East Ivy Photography provides professional family portraiture

to the greater Chattanooga, Tennessee area.

When should I book my Chattanooga family photos?

My fall calendar typically fills up by mid-summer, so please reach out as soon as you can to secure your spot.

As for timing, I have two basic guidelines:

First, outdoor lighting is best during the first or last hour of the day. So ideally, we will schedule your family photos to take place 60-90 minutes after sunrise, early in the morning, or just before sunset.

Second, happy people are more important than perfect lighting. So if your toddler turns into a pumpkin after 6pm, we can absolutely schedule your photos for 9am on a Saturday. In general, morning light yields a more pastel portrait, and evening light gives us warmer colors. Both are beautiful.

What should I wear for Chattanooga family photos?

Short answer? A gorgeous gown, or maybe two!

East Ivy Photography provides Chattanooga families with a selection of beautiful children's clothing for both little ladies and gents, along with parent gowns in our Studio Client Closet. You are welcome to schedule a fitting before your portrait session, so you can try things on ahead of time. This will allow you to go into your session relaxed, knowing we have a solid plan and that you and your baby are going to look wonderful.

If you're wanting something you can keep forever, I'm happy to provide lots of shopping suggestions to all my favorite boutiques for the whole family.

Chattanooga locals can even shop in-store at Savannah Taylor and enjoy a special East Ivy Photography Client discount.

Hair & Makeup

I love hair that is soft and flowing- either gentle curls to show movement or a simple updo are absolutely beautiful.

Hair & Makeup Artistry may be added to any family session.

Can we include the grandparents?

Yes. I love multi-generational portrait sessions! You're also welcome to bring your fur-babies.

Where should we take photos?

There are so many epic locations here in Chattanooga, and I'd love to suggest a few favorites for your family photo session.

There are a few factors I like to listen to in order to guide you to a perfect location-- the time of day that works best for your family (especially if sunset isn't ideal for your crew), the part of Chattanooga you're in, how far you're willing to travel, and the vibe you're going for. I do a *lot* of field sessions and shooting in patches of long golden grass and wildflowers.

Why should I book my Chattanooga family photos with East Ivy Photography?

My goal with every session is to give you a beautiful, stress-free experience that results in family portraits you can't wait to display in your home.

In addition to the obligatory "Christmas Card" shot-- everyone smiling at the camera-- I love the games, the laughing, the details, and the interactions. I love to see your children play and laugh together. I love little girls in twirly dresses. I love to see mothers snuggling their babies. I love an adoring husband giving the head-kiss to the mother of his children.

I love family.

If you see beauty the way I do, let's chat!
