CHATTANOOGA'S

NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHER

Newborns are truly tiny miracles!

I’ve been around enough newborns to know one thing for sure: they don’t stay that tiny for long.

The newborn phase is by far the shortest time of all of your baby’s milestones.

It’s a race to age one and it starts FAST, right out of the gate.

When should I book my newborn photos?

If it’s the curled up, sleepy posed newborn photos you’re after, these are best taken between 4-21 days after your baby’s birth. This is the time when most newborns are at their sleepiest.

With that said--if you are reading this and you're baby is already a week or two old, please don't worry! There is plenty we can still photograph about your 4 week old baby! Often an “older” newborn can still be coaxed into a pose or two, so don’t stress!

What should I wear for newborn photos?

Short answer? A gorgeous gown, or maybe two or three or four!

East Ivy Photography provides Chattanooga mothers with a selection of beautiful gowns in our Studio Client Closet. Every single gown pictured on this page is available for you to wear. You are welcome to schedule a complimentary dress fitting before your newborn portrait session, so you can try a few things on ahead of time. This will allow your to go into your session relaxed, knowing we have a solid plan and you're going to look absolutely divine.

If you're wanting something you can keep forever, I'm happy to provide lots of shopping suggestions to all my favorite maternity gown vendors.

Chattanooga locals-- you may opt to support a small local business and shop in-store at Savannah Taylor. East Ivy Clients, check your Session Prep Guide for your exclusive client discount code.

Once you're booked, I'll send along a Session Prep Guide that will give even more guidance on what to wear for your Chattanooga Newborn Session.

Hair & Makeup

I love hair that is soft and flowing- either gentle curls to show movement or a simple updo are absolutely beautiful.

Hair & Makeup Artistry may be added to any newborn session.

Our professional HMUA will meet you in studio and help to bring out your natural beauty. Her station is placed so that you'll be able to watch me photograph your sweet new babe while she takes care of you!

Where should we take photos?

Newborn portrait sessions take place in my studio in Apison, TN. I typically photograph newborns mid-morning, when they are at their sleepiest.

My light and airy studio space is designed for new parents. There is a full kitchen, two bathrooms, a comfortable lounge area. Older siblings can play with blocks and toys, read books, or watch TV.

Why should I book my Chattanooga newborn photos with East Ivy Photography?

I want to help you to remember your beautiful, peaceful, sleeping newborn.

The first few weeks of baby's life can be so hard, both emotionally and physically. What our bodies have done is nothing short of miraculous. The realities of mothering a newborn can be really difficult.

Your newborn portraits will allow you to remember this time at its most lovely. We will capture you as a mother, falling deeply in love with her new baby.

If you see beauty the way I do, let's chat!
