Hudson is three!


Flashback to this sweet, smoochy little face from three years ago...

One more of mama and her newborn babe...

and her big boy today. They have such a strong bond and easy-going connection together. Hudson is a sweet, gentle little dude and his mama understands him so well.

Creating portraits that celebrate that relationship is such a blessing for me as the photographer- it was just so easy!


Mama had some black and white inspiration images, and we essentially did the session in three parts-


(1) white (clothes) on white (backdrops)

(2) black (clothes) on black (backdrops), and

(3) black (clothes) on white (backdrops)

Mama ordered this GORGEOUS gown from Ivy City. I'd heard of that boutique before but hand't ordered anything. Now I'm on the prowl for a new piece or two to add to the studio wardrobe. The quality of the dress she ordered was beautiful.

And the sweetest "outtake," holding the "3" backwards. Love this!

The top right photo Is out of focus and I LOVE these types of serendipitous shots where it's just perfect for capturing the feeling of movement and emotion and fun. Reminds me of a watercolor painting.

and Mama's black dress was DIVINE. the back is an absolute showstopper.

Bottom left here was a little "in between" moment where mama was getting Hud changed, and she looked so beautiful kneeling down to serve her baby boy. Just a really natural, candid, everyday kind of moment as she cleans up a cookie crumb.
