Chattanooga Sitter Session

Liam has grown SO MUCH since his newborn portraits. It was such a joy to see this handsome squish and his sweet parents for his sitter session.

We started off with in-studio portraits. Mom opted to have our Hair & Makeup Artist come to her session (WHY didn't I take a photo of that?!?) Anyway, this gave us plenty of time to capture Liam in different outfits and backdrops. All of Liam's outfits came from my Studio Wardrobe. I usually like to do some casual, natural photos on the bed. How cute his he grabbing his little legs?

those sweet squishy baby thighs!

after the blue gingham bubble shorts, Liam tried on this cream cable knit romper. Perfection!

then it was time for some photos with dad!

after the cream knit romper (with dad! in a basket! in a chair!) we changed into the white Jon Jon from The Beaufort Bonnet Company. I have this little number in every size from 6mo to 3T, so it's always a classic choice for little boys visiting the studio.

Mom and dad brought a little wooden cross, since Liam is being baptized this month.

Look at those smiles!

Daddy was such a funny tickle monster! Liam and his Dad have such a strong, loving connection.

This is the white TBBC romper again, in my new favorite basinette. Liam was at such a great stage for this session- sitting up *pretty* well on his own, but not crawling yet so that made it easy to capture lots of smiles!

An heirloom-style edit. THOSE EYES!

Last clothing change! Liam was SO CHILL having his clothes changed. This little blue romper has that peter pan collar that I just love, and the blue was beautiful with his eyes. His Sophie the giraffe was happy to be in the photo!

Photos with Mom on the bed now. Look how happy and snuggly.

Again, the EYES. and his cute, single little tooth poking through. Mom's hair was *on point* after the HMUA was done.

some sweet, simple portraits with Mama. Can you imagine haivng a photo like this of yourself as a baby, with your mom? Such a gift for a child to treasure forever.

so cute!

some family portraits. Mom is wearing a gorgeous cream wrap dress from Savannah Taylor, and dad and baby are both in clothes from the Studio Wardrobe.

After finishing up in the studio, we headed outside to take a few portraits before evening. Mom changed into another gorgeous dress from Savannah Taylor in Chattnaooga.- this time cream, peasant-style tiered dress. It's just PERFECTION. Mama read her style guide!

sweet family photos.

such a gorgeous location! I love putting families down on a blanket. White blankets act as natural reflectors, giving nice, clean light on faces. And with little babies and small children, getting down on their level feels so intimate and just natural.

Smiliest baby of all time! We did stop for a bit between the studio portion of the session and the outdoor part, so Liam had time to nurse. He had a catnap in the car, too. He was such a happy baby!

teething on dad's fingers.

love how mama's eyes are full of love looking at her best boys.

some quintessential shots- baby in a bucket, baby in the air.

This was a sweet moment right at the end, after I told them I was done shooting. Mom's tattoo has special meaning, so this quiet, calm, loving shot of her with her son looking at her hands felt like the right place to close it out. The path you can see in the background is rough and uphill but leads to a beautiful place. A little like the journey.
