Emily's Maternity Session

Sweet Emily and her husband are expecting their first baby- a girl- in just a few short weeks! Emily has booked the four-session Signature Motherhood Collection, so get ready to see more of these pretty people in the upcoming year.

Emily is so positive and motivated. We did SEVEN looks for her, and photographed both indoors and at Sunset Rock on Lookout Mountain, Chattanooga. Her first and last dresses are her own, and the rest are from the Client Closet.

We started off with the prettiest pink gauzy number that felt very "Emily" - gentle, soft, feminine.

After the pink, we did a form-fitting black dress that really showcases the bump, and then a green floral dress. I'd like to recreate this photo in the green dress when the baby comes. Gotta set a reminder for that!

After those three, we moved to the white dress. By this point in the session, Emily had the posing flow down. Hand placement, fingers together, hit the six head "zones", push the forehead, etc. In the last studio shots, she looks like an absolute ANGEL and these are my favorite from the studio portion of the session. Her eyes sparkle, especially in black and white.

Emily was coming from Chattanooga, so we drove out to Sunset Rock. It was lightly raining on the way there, and I was having a little panic attack in the car that it would be overcast, but there turned out to be nothing to worry about. The sun came out and SHONE for us! These first pictures are taken in full sun, and you can tell the light is giving a lot of contrast.

Then, the sun tucked behind a cloud and we got these much softer shots. Just lovely.

I tried to position Emily so the curve of the TN river would cradle her baby bump.

It was windy up there, and perfect for dress throwing. In Emily's full gallery, there's a fun outtake where you can see her husband throwing the dress and making the funniest face. Had to leave that in for her!
